We would like to thank all of you who attended our Salvage Workshop on Friday, July 29 2016 at Juniata College. Sue Kellerman and Bill Minter of Penn State Libraries led attendees through the elements of disaster planning and response in the morning, giving everyone a chance to share their own stories of emergencies they had encountered at their institutions and what they learned from the experience. Their presentation may be found here.

In the afternoon, Sue and Bill led a fantastic salvage exercise on the quad, where attendees had a chance to practice handling a variety of wet materials, including books, newspapers, microfilm, photographs, and framed prints.
